The renewable wind energy market is dynamic on a global scale. Large wind producing countries such as the United States and Europe are facing some future uncertainty due to legislative and economic instability. Meanwhile, emerging markets in Latin America, Africa and especially Asia have high growth potential going forward. Growth in the United States has come exclusively from land based turbines, while other markets such as Europe are investing heavily in off-shore systems.
Cost efficiency is the name of the game in the wind market. Efficiency has roughly doubled in the past decade, but more work needs to be done to make it a more attractive energy alternative.
